The following is the death announcement that was received on March 13, 2003:

OSBORNE,  ROGER  W., 73, of Lake Mary, FL, formerly of Northfield, died Monday morning March 10th, at Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford. Born and raised in Winchester Massachusetts, he lived in Northfield for 23 years before moving to Florida in 1986.

Roger served his country as a Marine, was stationed in the Philippines and Japan, and fought in the Korean War. He worked as a Bellman for Seaview Country Club, and it was there that he met Shirley J. Ocker, his devoted wife of 45 years. Together, they owned and operated Sea Breeze Cleaners in Pleasantville. He  was  a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Pleasantville Merchants Association, Pleasantville  Kiwanis, served on the Board of Directors for the Tilton  Village Recreation Assoc., and supported his children as a Mainland Band and Sports Booster. After moving to Florida, Roger kept busy using his mechanical and carpentry skills. He was an active member of the Forest Night Watch Association, and the Grace United Methodist Church. He enjoyed bowling, shuffleboard, dominoes, and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his lovely wife Shirley, he is survived by three daughters:  Cheryl Cervera (Angel), Nancy Collins (Bob), and Kimbra Goodwin (Greg), all of NJ; his mother, Marie, of MA; two sisters Sally Wasson, of CA, and Nancy Soter of  FL; two brothers, George of SC, and Joseph (Jan), of FL; and seven precious grandchildren;  Bobby, Courtney, Austin, Casey, Nicole, Ashley, and Angela. He also leaves behind a host of loving friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place on March 22nd, 2003 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Lake Mary, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Grace United Methodist Memorial Fund: 499 Country Club Rd, Lake Mary, FL 32746.
